Reverend Tiate Carson
A man after God's own heart ~ 1 Sam. 13:14
Reverend Tiate Carson, a native of Detroit, Michigan, ministers a Christ-centered message of salvation and empowerment by the grace and power of God. Rev. Carson is happily married to Reverend Arlise Carson, and they have been blessed with two exceptional daughters, Bria and Imani.
Reverend Carson obtained a degree in Accounting from North Carolina A&T State University and a Master of Divinity from the Interdenominational Theological Center’s (ITC) Turner Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA.
Reverend Carson has served in ministry for more than 30 years as a Senior Pastor, Young Adult Pastor, Youth Pastor, and College Ministry Leader of churches in Jamaica, NY, Detroit, MI, San Antonio, TX, Austin, TX, Atlanta, GA and Greensboro, NC. Rev. Carson most recently served as the Director of Ministries at The Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral of New York under the leadership of Rev. Stephen A. Green from (2024-2025). He also served as the Minister of Stewardship & Development, Minister to Men, Worship Service Facilitator, Intercessory Prayer Facilitator, New Ministers in Training Coordinator, and as the HIV/AIDS Education Grant Facilitator under the leadership of the retired pastors, the Rev. Drs. Floyd & Elaine Flake from (2015-2024). Rev. Carson also served as Young Adult Pastor, Worship Service Facilitator and Thanksgiving Feeding of the Multitudes Coordinator at the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral of New York from (2001-2004).
Before arriving at Allen, Rev. Carson served as youth pastor at Oak Grove A.M.E. Church under the leadership of the now retired Bishop Gregory G. M. Ingram & Supervisor Rev. Dr. Jessica K. Ingram (1997-1999). Rev. Carson also served as youth pastor at St. John A.M.E. Church in Fairburn, GA under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Keith D. D. Lawrence (2000-2001).
Reverend Carson pastored Bethel AME Church in San Antonio, TX from (2004-2006), where he and his wife led the congregation after the elevation of Bishop Sarah Davis to episcopal service. Reverend Carson served on the district finance team and board of examiners. Under his leadership, the church grew wholistically by offering a Sunday morning traditional and contemporary worship service, the creation of a women’s praise and worship team, a contemporary choir, drama ministry and the growth of the liturgical dance ministry. Under the Carsons, the church launched their first Women’s Conference with 150 registrants and women’s worship services that drew women from near and far. These anointed services averaged more than 300 women in attendance.
Reverend Carson was then called to serve Grant AME Worship Center in Austin, TX from (2006-2008), where he was the central leader in helping to save the church from financial collapse, by negotiating key contracts, leading the way in averting litigation and establishing solvent relationships with banking institutions. Rev. Carson was instrumental in partnering with the N.Y.O.S. (Not Your Ordinary School) charter school management company as they together created one of the premier multi-site, multi-cultural charter school organizations in central Texas, where he served as a board member. After two years of serving at Grant, Rev. Carson planted Spirit & Truth Christian Church in Round Rock, TX where he served that community faithfully for three and a half years (2008-2012). It was then, that Rev. Carson heard the call of God to return to the Greater Allen AME Cathedral of New York (Jamaica, NY) where he served faithfully for ten years. On Saturday, June 14, 2025, Rev. Carson was appointed as the Senior Pastor of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Rockville Centre, NY, where he presently serves.
Reverend Carson has ministered throughout the United States and abroad at conferences for Church Leaders, Men, Married Couples, Youth and Young Adults. He also specializes in the ministry areas of financial empowerment, leadership development, prayer, spiritual gifts and deliverance. Rev. Carson is an alumnus of and served as the New York City Coordinator for the DeVos Urban Leadership Initiative (DVULI), where he oversaw a cohort of urban leaders who head youth ministries and parachurch organizations throughout the five boroughs and surrounding areas of New York City and New Jersey. In addition to his ministry accomplishments, Rev. Carson has also worked as a middle school (6-8 grade) math teacher in Round Rock, TX and Coney Island, Brooklyn.
More important than any of the above, Reverend Carson is "a man that seeks after the very heart of God, lives a life of integrity, and is driven by the power of the Holy Spirit."
